IPM Limited were given the job of providing cost and project management of the job.
This project is a continuation of the process of replacement of worn out old concrete similar to that found on the North Apron.
The project required the removal and replacement of approximately 30,000m² of operational apron to the south of the passenger pier and terminal building.
The works have been phased to allow on-going operational access to the passenger pier, cargo centre and private business aircraft terminal during the construction period.
Works to the South Apron included the installation of Fixed Electrical Ground Power, additional apron floodlighting and new Visual Docking Guidance System to 12 Stands on the passenger pier.
The completion of this project was in early July 2008.
