The Critical Part Detection System (CPD) Project required the implementation of a system to detect incidents and manage the response to unauthorised access into the critical parts of the airport apron from the airside zone.IPM identified potential suppliers and conducted the tender process. This included facilitating a proof of concept stage in which two suppliers were invited to test and demonstrate the suitability of their systems in the operational environment.Following the appointment of the successful supplier, IPM oversaw the civil works to accommodate the new radar and CCTV sensors including sourcing suitable hardware and coordinating works around airport operations.IPM developed and produced the Site Acceptance Testing criteria and documentation, undertaking and facilitating the testing phases to ensure system performance was to specification and in-turn providing client reassurance. The nature of this project required close attention to risk management and control. IPM conducted risk workshops to identify and mitigate risks posed by the implementation of a new system and the challenging environment in which it was being deployed. The result is a system which meets the stringent requirements demanded by airport security and stands up to audit checks. The installation is innovative in design and supported by highly configurable software, subsequently providing Jersey Airport with one of the United Kingdom's most sophisticated surveillance and security technology systems.
